FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Are shelves included?
Shelving is not included, it is optional. See our price list for two tier shelving, measuring 800mm high x 800mm wide x 400mm deep in Green PVC. Other local options are: Aluminium City (local outlet), ModUShelf www.modushelf.co.za Cynton 011 392 7344 / www.cynton.co.za

2. Is any irrigation included?
Irrigation is not included – your local irrigation supplier will be able to advise you.
Wet Walls available from Munters 011 971 9700, or Fogging systems can be used but I have no recommendations in this area.

3. Do you supply fans or air vents?
Additional roof vents and Louvre windows are available from Easy Greenhouses. Domestic fans can be used inside – small extractor fans from local builder supplier eg Builders’ Warehouse can be fixed into panels.

4. Can you extend the GH48or join them?
The GH48 can be extended in 2 panel lengths (approx 1.2m) with a maximum length of 10m. Rion will soon supply the option to buy doors at both ends.

5. What kind of foundation do I need?
Foundations depend on your specific needs. You can use concrete, paving stones, bricks, gravel etc. Easy Greenhouses provide the option of a plastic foundation kit, which is put into the ground like a foundation on the perimeter wall. The greenhouse is bolted to the foundation, making use of the holes provided in the bottom of the frame.

6. Automatic window openers are activated by temperature changes. As heat builds up above the desired temperature, the arm activates, opening the window. As the temperature cools, the window closes. It works on a thermally powered piston, so there are no batteries or motors to fail. Clear instructions come with the unit. Adjustable between 15 and 25 degrees C. Do not heat greenhouse to more than 50 degrees C.

7. Shadenet kits:
A high quality metallized, knitted, reflective screen (60%), made of a mixture of aluminium and polyethylene, with UV resistant (5 year guarantee) and anti-oxidation coating for durability and longevity, enables moderation of day/night temperatures (36% energy conservation), provides uniform shadow (62%) and optimal diffused light (55%), prevents irradiation damage and reduces the heat in the greenhouse during hot days, efficient energy conservation in winter.

8. Are the Polycarbonate panels hail proof?
The polycarbonate panels ARE hail-proof; no damage whatsoever in local hail storms (Apr 05 Gauteng). Parts are easily replaced if damaged. The polycarbonate does not discolour or crack. Polycarbonates are a particular group of thermoplastics with an incredibly high resistance to impact. As such, these plastics are very widely used in modern manufacturing (a major component of bullet-proof glass). It's ability to handle high temperatures sees it used in microwave cookware. The life expectancy can be as much as 30 years. It is reported to be 50 times stronger than acrylic.

9. Is there a guarantee?
The units carry a 7 year manufacturer’s warranty for any manufacturing defect, however the product has life expectancy of 15+ years. The Rion manufacturing plant is ISO9002 certified in Quality Management, Health & Safety & Environmental Management. See manufacturer’s web site www.rion.com
